Building Community Through A Vibrant Downtown
Visit Bainbridge Island and experience our wonderful, unique world. Escape from the hectic world of cities and malls, take a deep breath, kick back and relax. A simple streetscape retains our small-town character and a sense of place. We are one of only 12 nationally accredited historic Main Streets in Washington and you will find an eclectic variety of rewarding experiences.
We are different in all the right ways. Come see us – and stay awhile – longer.
This unique addition to downtown Winslow sells vintage vinyl, CD's, and used books. Owner Raymond Gendreau opened the shop November 1, 2015. Previously a photography teacher at the Art Institute of Seattle, Raymond had a dream to open this type of vintage shop on Bainbridge Island. Customers have the opportunity to browse through the inventory of thousands of albums, many of which were at one time part of his own collection.
The collection represents music from around the world. Visitors will also see images from Raymond's extensive career in photography, including covers from magazines such as Time, Alaska Airlines, and Texas Monthly.
Check out the store's Facebook page for timely information including details on Vinyl Lounge, held at Pegasus Coffee House and which records Raymond is spinning on any given day at Backstreet Beat.
