For the past eight years, The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art has collaborated with Earshot Jazz festival to produce live shows by national and regional artists, host Jazz films and lectures as well as exhibit some Jazz related artwork. The gallery has frequently shadowed these features with artwork by local and national talents. This year’s show is an invitational.

Many know musician and artist Neil Andersson, as he is the founder of well-known Gypsy Jazz group Pearl Django and years ago was part of Garage Rock group The Fabulous Wailers. Neil holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and primarily paints landscapes in oil. But he’s also done some Jazz-inspired abstract works and designed album covers for two recent projects out of Santa Barbara.

Cory Bennett, based in Poulsbo, raised in Riverside, CA , makes photo collages focused on celebrities and pop stars across many genres. He participated in the 2018 Jeffrey Moose Gallery exhibition “Jazz Greats of the Northwest” and showed at BIMA in a pandemic era exhibit “Heros” 2021-22.

Jeff Mihalyo is a Seattle based surreal painter who also does web work for this gallery and many others. He has been active in the Seattle scene for decades, creating a mural for the famous Grunge venue The OK Hotel back in the 90’s which is now hanging in the Columbia City club The Royal Room.

Stephen Rock, of Seattle, originally from Ellensburg, is a multi media artist who’s complex, hi Rez digital and traditional media works are shown at the Seattle Art Museum’s prestigious Rental/Sales gallery. He is also well known as a top notch digital printmaker, serving regional artists and galleries.

Jerry Stoll was a legendary San Francisco photographer who participated in a ground breaking group exhibition entitled “San Francisco Weekend” that toured America and the world in the late 50's. He was a photographer, a film maker and an activist who supported many causes including the anti war movement, Women’s and Latino Rights. He was the official photographer for the first 8 years of the Monterey Jazz Festival.
