Stars are born in a collapsing nebula of dust and gas. Gravity ignites nuclear fusion, causing the star to shine. Eventually the fuel is exhausted and the star reaches the end of its life. Depending on its mass, its demise takes one of several forms: a red dwarf, a white dwarf, a planetary nebula, a red giant, a supernova explosion, a neutron star, or a black hole. Let’s talk about it! Join the Cosmic Conversation as we sort this all out.
We offer a hybrid in person and optional Zoom format for this conversation. In person will be a small group (up to 15 people) at Battle Point Observatory, and a second option to attend via Zoom. Ages 16+. Advance registration, see info at: https://bpastro.org/cosmic-conversations
