[more+]Tossed & Found honors Earth Month 2026 in an exhibition of work by eleven artists and special guests from ReFashion Bainbridge who turn discarded, repurposed, and recycled materials into works of art. Their artistic alchemy follows in the path of earlier artists mining this rich vein of imagination, like Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Joseph Cornell, and Robert Rauchenberg who incorporated found objects and unconventional materials into their work, expanding the definition of what could be art, how it could be made, and with what materials. In Tossed & Found expect the unexpected, humor, playfulness, pointed commentary, and technical mastery in work that reimagines our everyday world in new and unique ways.
Featuring work by Joanne Bohannon, David Dickhut, Lynn Di Nino, Denise Harris, Linda Jarvis, Mary Jeanne Linford, Margie McDonald, Steve Parmelee, Kathy Ross, Loran Scruggs, Tyler Andersen, and guest artists from ReFashion Bainbridge.
Opening reception at First Friday, April 3, 6–8pm.

[more+]Jeffrey Moose Gallery is proud to welcome sculptor Dick Strom and painter Sophie Frieda for our Spring exhibition, April and May 2026. Receptions will be held on First Friday, April 3rd and First Friday, May 1st from 6 to 8 PM. A Facebook Livestream will happen previous to the April event from roughly 5:20-5:40.
Dick Strom was born and raised in West Port Madison on Bainbridge Island, learning welding and metal working as a teenager. His family founded Modern Collision auto repair business in 1974. He attended High School on Bainbridge and then spent three years in the US Marine Corps. His sculptures and commissioned works have graced the Island for decades. Strom works both representationally and abstractly, creating fanciful animals and figures with the same ease as he creates abstract compositions from gears, wheels, chains and just about any type of scrap steel. Most often sited outside, Strom’s sculptures are quite comfortable both in landscape and in homes. Self taught and modest, he often demurs when called an artist.
Sophie Frieda, a classically trained painter of British origin, concentrates on plant life, some local and some tropical. She works primarily in oil on canvas, focusing tightly on foliage and flowers, creating intimate views from the perspective of a rabbit or bird. Her work is refined and precise, created with fine strokes and accurate color yet not cold and photographic. A sort of sympathetic realism thats immediately appealing. Her education includes a BA from Central St Martins college in London and another BA Honors Degree from California College of the Arts
In San Francisco. Her work has been shown at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts, BIMA, Bloedel Reserve as well as in local galleries and is held in collections in the UK, France, Australia, Washington state, California, Texas, D.C. and Connecticut.

The program features the brilliant brass of Dukas’s La Péri, the elegant lyricism of Fauré’s Pavane, the sacred intimacy of Messiaen's O sacrum convivium, and the luminous orchestral colors of Debussy’s Nocturnes. The evening culminates in a performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, a work of warmth and serenity that offers a profoundly moving expression of reflection, unity, and the transcendent power of music.

Why Manzanita Watershed? The Manzanita Watershed is our priority restoration area as it supports the local and greater Puget Sound ecosystem by providing critical habitat for wildlife and a healthy groundwater supply for all. Protecting and caring for this watershed, connected through Manzanita Ridge Preserve and Manzanita Park, ensures a healthy environment for conservationists and recreationists alike!
This activity would be more suitable for children ages six and up who are comfortable using some tools, walking off trail on uneven surfaces, and potentially getting pricked by blackberry thorns. We will have leather gloves and water to refill your reusable water bottles, plus some wildflower seeds to give away!
Meet at parking area/kiosk at end of Manzanita Park Rd

Teams of up to 4 players will compete in our own Bainbridge version of Irish Road Bowling, a 300-year-old sport invented in Ireland, where players roll a small, heavy bowl around the track in the fewest number of throws. That's it! Simple but difficult, and as Irish as you get in creating family fun in an atmosphere of Irish friendship and light competition, fortified by Irish food, music and humor. Funds raised over our costs will be donated to the Bainbridge Irish, a newly formed cultural club on BI.
First and Second Place prizes will be awarded, along with prizes for "best (Irish) dressed," and the most lephrechaun dollars in hand after "pretend wagering" on your favorite team.
All awards will be presented (and toasts will be made) at the Plate & Pint immediately following the tournament.
Whether you come to play or cheer for your family and friends - for free! - it will be, as the Irish say, Craic (a fun, relaxed time)!

[more+]April is Earth Month and we are celebrating through stewardship! Join the Park District, BI Parks & Trails Foundation, and BI Land Trust at Manzanita Park to restore habitat along the Manzanita Watershed. We'll be removing invasive plant species and creating habitat piles.
